About this place

Find Chaplin's Honky Tonk Restaurant & Saloon in Scranton (the area) when you want a kitchen that still feels human. From the door you notice live music on some evenings, then a family-friendly room settles in as you sit.

If you only remember three names, make them steak, plates built for sharing, and the kitchen's daily strengths. Everything else is supporting cast.

Guests tend to linger. That is a feature: conversations stretch, plates get passed, and nobody rushes the check. Some evenings bring live music; arrive a little early if you want a calmer table. The listing address is 763 E Drinker St, Scranton, PA 18512.

Local tip: live music, line dancing, or karaoke begins, typically from. Double-check details before you go - kitchens change, and Platefolk prefers honest updates over frozen claims.

What we value here is consistency: a kitchen that repeats its strengths, a room that does not treat guests like tickets, and a Chaplin's Honky Tonk Restaurant & Saloon visit that still feels worth the trip across town. Bring curiosity, order something the staff recommends, and leave a short note afterward so the next diner arrives wiser.

All food was great! Scenery was pretty cool. Loved reading the signs on the walls. Waitress was very nice and did a great job.

I've been wanting to check this place out and I finally did. It was a good and enjoyable find. Its just off US 81N in Dunmore, Pa.I had the half pound make your on burger. I was impressed the burger was large with fried onions and America cheese and the bun was a story to its self. Have plenty of knapkin your need it the cheese was cheeseyer, the meat was meatier and the bun stayed together to the last bite and the fries were right on.It's a local joint with older couples. At present the bar isn't open and no line dancing due lack of staff.Getting back on 81N is a little tricky so use Google maps.

Service is great but I didn't enjoy the food. We ordered nachos, seafood bisque, pizza, and hot wings. All had the same zesty sour flavor except for the pizza which had a really sweet sauce and the flavors didn't go well together. Portions are huge but not a fan of the way they blend flavors.

Fun place, has a dining room side and a bar side. The menu is HUGE, like 10 pages. Whatever you're in the mood for, you'll probably find it.Coolest of all, they have A-Treat soda on tap.Large parking area around back.

For $25 I got a side salad, a loaf of garlic bread, a decent and well seasoned 12 oz NY Strip, with sweet crispy onion strings, a side of corn and a side of mashed potatoes. The menu here is gigantic. As big as a NJ Diner.Cool atmosphere in the bar area, with enjoyable live music.

You Need To Know? Arrived around 6 on a friday & we were able to be seated immediately. The menu is huge, many options to choose from. On this night we had a couple "Build Your Own" burgers & a Sausage & Meatballs platter. The burgers were filling & large. Not bad at all. The sausage & meatballs tasted like frozen meatballs lots of spaghetti sauce piled on a plate. Place itself can use some upgrading. Apparently the live entertainment later in the evening is where it is at! Now You Know! -TBH

Went to the Honky Tonk for the first time in quite a while, great dinners and sandwiches and a very large menu…will be back again soon to try some more things. Burgers and salads are great too!

Our brunch group always go here for great omelettes, pancakes and also delicious items from the lunch menu as well; like soups, chili, burgers and sandwiches. I have never had a bad meal here. The coffee is great and the waitresses keep it coming!

First time there. Loved everything. The food was phenomenal. The service was the best. The waitress and kitchen staff were the friendliest I've encountered in a very long time. Very accommodating for wheelchair use. Can't wait to go back.

I relocated from Michigan, where local diners, often called coney islands, offer a wide variety of dishes, from soups and sandwiches to pizzas and pastas all the way to breakfast. This new place reminded me of home, delivering an absolutely delicious experience at reasonable prices. The French onion soup was likely the best I've ever tasted, surpassing even my own homemade version. After trying numerous diners since my move, I finally found what I had been craving, and I will definitely return, as this meal reignited my hope for finding great dining options in the area.
